Vitiligo Open Day, free dermatological screenings at the Israelitic Hospital Rome

On Sunday, June 26, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Outpatient Clinic’s office in S Square. Bartholomew Island, 21, Israel Hospital Vitiligo Open Day will be held. On the occasion of World Vitiligo Day, the Israelitic Hospital in Rome, a center of excellence in the health care scene for the Photodermatology and Treatment of Vitiligo, is promoting the international event with the aim of informing and educating about a disease that affects indiscriminately women, men, and children and that is characterized by the appearance of white nonpigmented spots. The team of dermatologists, led by Prof.

John Leone, Scientific Coordinator and by Dr. Andrea Paro Vidolin, Head of the Center for Photodermatology and Vitiligo Care at the Israelitic Hospital, will be on hand for consultations and suggestions for skin control.

In the first part of the Open Day

In the first part of the Open Day, specialists from the Israel Hospital’s Center for Photodermatology and Vitiligo Treatment will offer a time for information, insight and dialogue on the topic of photodermatology and Vitiligo treatment. Photodermatology screenings kick off from 5 p.m., with doctors performing free examinations and checkups. At the end of the dermatological check-up, the Israelitic Hospital “skin card” will also be issued, a card useful for classifying the phototype of each individual patient and fundamental for the beginning of a dermatological pathway.

“Vitiligo can be a real social hardship for patients with it. It is a disease on constitutional and autoimmune predisposition with multifactorial causes – states Dr. Andrea Paro Vidolin, Head of the Center for Photodermatology and Treatment of Vitiligo – Therapies, in recent years, have evolved and it has been understood that the patient suffering from it also has a real oxidative stress.

Thanks to the successes of science, it can now be mitigated with innovative therapeutic approaches. It is therefore with great pleasure that, on the occasion of World Vitiligo Day, our specialists from the Israel Hospital’s Center for Photodermatology and Vitiligo Treatment will be available for free dermatological examinations and interviews.”
